Providenza is an agri-cultural laboratory, artist residency and studio space located in the area originally called the Ghjuncheto, in the Nebbiu region in Corsica.
Its double specificity is to offer an immersive work experience in a powerful natural environment and to promote a breaking down of boundaries between disciplines and cultures, being very internationally open and locally grounded.
We have a demanding artistic direction, sensitive to moving images and sound arts, design and life sciences, care and sensory experiences, while remaining open to cross-disciplinary approaches.
Founded by filmmaker Antoine Viviani, who decided to transform an abandoned family farming land by putting it back into production in 2016, it is now a hybrid space, evolving throughout the year:
- An artist residency open to international and Corsican artists through different programs (main and partner residencies)
- A transmission space delivering weekly long masterclasses with pioneer artists as well as workshops programs for the local community.
- A private studio and workspace for a small community of artists and label
- A farm and its restaurant open to the public during the summer, hosting a festival and other cultural events.
